Terms and conditions

हे पान इंग्रजीत आहे; इंग्रजी मजकूरच ग्राह्य धरला जाईल.

These terms are an agreement between you and [legal name] ("we", "us"), which runs GranthaSetu at [website]. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

1. The service

We convert scanned or photographed pages that you upload into editable text and Word files, and offer related tools and services (browser proofreading, layout and styles, other file formats, proofreading by our team, plain text, exact searchable PDF, translation). The text is read by automated software, including artificial-intelligence services of reputed cloud providers working for us, and may contain mistakes. You are responsible for checking the results before you rely on or publish them.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service through a parent, guardian or institution that accepts these terms.
  • Give true details and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what is done through your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
  • Your account is for you (or your institution) alone and is used on the computer(s) registered to it. It may not be shared, lent, sold or passed on, and its access may not be given to anyone else. A login from another computer is refused; if you change your computer, ask us to move it.
  • An institution (a trust, library, publisher or other organisation) using the service is bound by these terms through the person who opens the account.

3. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown on the Pricing page and, for each book, before it is sent. They include GST. We may change prices for the future; a change never affects a book already sent or an order already placed.
  • Payment is made in advance into your wallet, through our payment partner or by UPI / bank transfer to the account shown on your Wallet page (credited once we see it in our bank). We do not see or store your card, UPI PIN or bank login details.
  • For every book an amount is set aside and only the actual charge is taken, as described on the Pricing page. Refunds and cancellations follow our Cancellation and refund policy.
  • A tax invoice is issued for every payment. If you give your GSTIN in your account, it is shown on the invoice.

4. Your books and your rights

  • You keep every right you have in the pages you upload and in the files made from them. We claim no ownership of your books.
  • You confirm that you are entitled to have the pages you upload converted — because the work is in the public domain, because you hold the rights, or because you have the permission of whoever does. You will not upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to share with us.
  • You allow us to store and process your pages only to provide the service to you, and to keep them for the time described in our Shipping and delivery policy.
  • To make the reading better for everyone, words and spelling corrections confirmed during proofreading may be added to our vocabulary and correction lists. These are single words and corrections, never your book's text as a whole, and nothing that identifies you or your book.
  • We may refuse or remove material that we reasonably believe infringes someone's rights or the law, and will tell you if we do.

5. Acceptable use

You will not misuse the service: no attempt to break into it or other accounts, to overload it, to copy or resell the service itself, or to use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does so; any unused wallet balance is then refunded under our refund policy, unless the law requires otherwise.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of a provider's failure. We may improve or change features; we will not take away a paid service you have already ordered.

7. Our responsibility

  • The service is provided with reasonable skill and care. Machine reading of old print and manuscripts is not perfect, and we do not promise that any result is free of mistakes.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with a book or service is limited to the amount you paid us for that book or service. We are not liable for indirect losses such as loss of profit, data you did not download within the keeping period, or the consequences of publishing unchecked text.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be limited by agreement.

8. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time by writing to us; your unused wallet balance is refunded under our refund policy. Records we must keep by law (such as invoices) are kept for the period the law requires.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to our grievance officer first (Contact us); most problems are settled that way. Any dispute not settled is subject to the courts of [jurisdiction].

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version. An important change is shown to you when you next log in. Using the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
